Trash & Flesh, A Hood by Air Collaboration ReQuest Models Show Package SS15
Role: Creative Direction, Graphic Design, Merchandise Design, Packaging Concept & Design, Project Management
The Spring-Summer 2015 show package is a collaboration between ReQuest Model Management, cult-favorite brand Hood By Air, and famed Warhol-collaborator Paul Morrissey. Inspired by Morrissey's visionary films Trash & Flesh and featuring HBA's iconic styling, the 'Trash & Flesh' package embodies the New York fashion manifesto through ReQuest's top faces.
The package is presented in a custom-designed VHS box. The reversible box depicts Trash on one side (Men) and Flesh on the reverse (Women). Photographed by renowned image-maker Kevin Amato, the models wear HBA, symbolizing pieces of "trash" and "flesh." Their images are loosely distributed in the package among models who are more conventionally styled and photographed. The cards are designed to resemble vintage film-still cards.
“I never told my actors what to wear. I shot only for few hours on Saturday afternoons and whatever the actors wore to work was always better than what I could have selected for them. Because of this they make their characters more realistic than they would have been and they really represent the look of the period in which they were made.”
